The Special Protection Area "Mountains Orliakas and Tsourgiakas"is a part of Natura 2000 Network. The area is characterized by rocky areas with vertical slopes and gorges at the catchment area of river Venetikos. This is an important site for raptors and species associated with forest and open habitats. The list of relevant bird species of the area includes the Laner Falcon, the Peregrine Falcon, the Short-toed Eagle and the Black Stork. Although the area held an important population of Egyptian Vulture in the past, nowadays the species has partically dissapeared and probably only one pair is left

.Η Ζώνη Ειδικής Προστασίας " Όρη Όρλιακας και Τσούργιακας" αποτελούν μέρος του δικτύου Natura 2000. Η περιοχή χαρακτηρίζεται απο βραχώδεις εκτάσεις με ορθοπλαγιές και φαράγγια στην λεκάνη απορροής του Βενέτικου ποταμού . Πρόκειται για μια σημαντική περιοχή για τα αρπακτικά και τα είδη των δασών και των ανοικτών εκτάσεων.Ανάμεσα στα σημαντικά είδη πουλιών που απαντώνται εδώ είναι το Χρυσογέρακο, ο Πετρίτης,ο Φιδαετός και Μαυροπελαργός. Ο πληθυσμός του Ασπροπάρη έχει πλέον σχεδόν εξαφανιστεί και πιθανόν μόνο ενα ζευγάρι έχει απομείνει στην περιοχή.
